As you may have noticed, I have started to share more context behind new works and how sustainability is practiced. Now, I am sharing the intention behind my vast and dynamic creative expression.
I do a little bit of everything, a multidisciplinary artist, designer, writer, and podcaster with 10+ years of administrative experience. I create art, clothing, spaces, and experiences that bring a smile to faces, spark joy, and welcome calm and stillness. With my interests include exploring the various forms and concepts of landscapes. Specifically, themes of intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships and experiences, expressions of self, environmental awareness, and evolving narratives of the Black diaspora.
A broad net right?

But what brings it all together?
Within me, there is a deep need to create spaces and moments for people to go inward and reflect on what is coming up for them. Through the years, I’ve learned that many of us are not in tune with our emotions, how we feel, experiencing them fully, and moving through them. Some of us ignore our feelings when we feel a tinge of anything that is not happiness or anger. And while sadness is acceptable, it is not encouraged to be fully experienced.
I have cultivated a deep practice of innate observation, introspection, reflection, mindfulness, and intentionality from my life experience of being one of many due to having many siblings, living through Black girlhood, and now Black womanhood. The deep why behind my vast dynamic creative expression is to provide spaces and moments encouraging people to acknowledge, experience, and be fully present in all aspects of their lives. Don’t worry, I am not into toxic positivity and optimism. I just know that in these times, it’s easy to lean into the wrongdoings, anger, fear, and more while ignoring the joy, optimism, calm, and stillness needed to move forward. I believe that we can chew gum and walk at the same time.
Even though I’m engaging in heavy topics, as mentioned above, I’ve embraced that there is a level of joy and release that is expressed through my work and that it also brings a smile to people’s faces, so I’m leaning into that more. I hope that my shared creative expressions encourage, motivate, and allow you to carve out moments of stillness and quiet to go inward and dig deep to be with yourself because you deserve that time and care.
