Calendar Time! Oscillation Exhibition Opening

I’m excited to share that my first solo-exhibition, Oscillation, opens on Friday, July 11th at 6:00 PM at Vital Spaces. The exhibition is on view from July 11th through July 25th, with private walkthroughs starting on Tuesday, July 8th.

About The Exhibition

Oscillation: The state of moving back and forth between two points.

How does oscillation appear in our lives? Multidisciplinary artist Jakia Fuller’s first solo exhibition, Oscillation, creates an environment of exploration and reflect on the movement of the recurring patterns in our values, views, beliefs, and emotions.

Oscillation is an introduction to Fuller’s sculptural practice through a selection of existing and new works that aim to cultivate mesmerizing moments of introspection, inviting the viewer to reflect on the patterns, issues, concerns, beliefs, and perspectives, that they find themselves oscillating between. The exhibition encourages one to be present with this state of being that we all experience and find ourselves in.

Utilizing various mediums and processes, her work builds an expansive vocabulary and serve as a guide into her creative practice. Even though Fuller’s work engages and navigates challenging topics, she hopes her work brings a smile to people’s faces, sparks joy and welcomes calm and stillness.

Yes, this is happening! I like the topic, and I’m enjoying the new pieces that embody movement. You and I have explored orbits and ripples, and now you are embarking on oscillations in our lives. The great exploration continues. I hope you are embracing the excitement and anticipation (even the stress) of the show. This looks to be thoughtful and engaging…very much like you…!
