WORLD WIDE WHACK, Tierra Whack

Tierra Whack:
WORLD WIDE WHACK
Language: English

Ever since Whack World was released in 2018, I knew that more would come and more is here.

Her wry theatrical range and vocal control are nothing to shake your head at. Her animated flow and skillful use of tone navigate us through the nuanced emotions. She isn’t afraid to go there to ensure that the message, the vibe, and the energy that needs to be expressed are evoked.

In WORLD WIDE WHACK, Tierra Whack takes us on a ride of honesty and vulnerability of the breadth and depth of our emotions and how life is lifing, and that’s okay! This album grants us permission to explore and be present in the valleys of life. It isn’t always about maintaining peaks. We’re meant to experience and be present in the textured and diverse landscape of life.

Favorite Songs: Please note that the whole album is a vibe.

  • SNAKE EYES: “She works hard, blood, tears and sweat.”
  • BURNING BRAINS
  • MS.BEHAVE
  • DIFFICULT: I’m not sure where we all signed up to the idea or belief that life was going to be easy, maybe marketing. But in this track, Tierra gently reminds us that living is difficult, and a lot of us are surviving, moving through it one day at a time.
  • MOOVIES: Come through Larry, David, and Lester! I love Larry! In MOOVIES, she shares desires, wants, and daydreams of dating.
  • X: She’s saying what many are thinking and would like to say when it comes to these sneaky links. Highlighting what it’s like to move on from such toxic relationships and entanglements and how to hype yourself up to do so.
  • IMAGINARY FRIENDS: At times one’s imagination is more reliable than everyday people because they will and can hurt you (un)intentionally. To cope, we turn to our imaginations and create perfect and ideal companions. Companions with characteristics and traits that we need and desire, that we aren’t receiving in our everyday relationships. But through introspection, it provides insight into what needs and wants we have in relationships moving forward.
  • ACCESSIBLE: Invites us to reflect on how accessible we’ve allowed ourselves to be in these times and to take inventory of the people in our lives and their level of accessibility.

Tierra Whack is a creative force to be reckoned with and not to be taken lightly.

What did you think of the album? What came up for you? Did you walk away with something totally different?
